Monopoly returned to McDonald’s in 2025 after a nine-year hiatus. We were tasked with bringing the US version of the classic peel promotion into the digital age for the very first time.
A new way to play
The game included its standard physical peel with a digital twist; the collecting of property pieces, redemption of prizes and additional “Bonus Play” was now housed within the McDonald’s app. Plus, purchasing select items through the app offered a digital version of the tactile peel.

Turning extras into Perks
We had been tackled with a way to make collecting multiples of the same property into a positive.
So we introduced a frequency driver that I coined, Property Perks. For every four properties scanned, the player was rewarded with a partner discount or offer.
